Skin rollers

What's involved?

Skin rollers (e.g. Genuine Dermaroller®) can be effective for treating acne scars, wrinkles and ageing. The technique naturally stimulates collagen and elastin production in the dermis. A roller covered with multiple surgical steel micro-needles is used on the skin creating pin point punctures which cause micro bleeding points in the dermis which release peptides/growth factors.

How long does it take?

Treatment usually takes around 30 minutes and a course of treatments may be required. You get an experienced Dermatologist administering the procedure, not a non-medical practitioner or beautician. We use the Genuine Dermaroller at our clinic.

What is the success rate?

Improvement should be seen after the first treatment although we would recommend a course of 3 sessions to get the full benefit of the procedure.

There is a small proportion of patients who don’t seem to respond to this treatment. It is not possible to predict who those patients are until after their first treatment. The Dermatologist will advise if this treatment is appropriate for you.
