What is a Allergy testing
There are three forms of allergy testing. This page refers to allergy testing through blood tests. We also offer patch testing and more information on patch testing can be found here. We do not currently offer skinprick allergy testing.
What is involved in a Allergy testing
A sample of blood is taken which is tested against a profile or set of allergens. There are standard profiles (such as eczema provoking, and shellfish) or individual allergens can be tested against. We offer the following allergy profiles at our clinic:

- Children’s Panel

- Combined Shellfish/Finfish
- Milk & Milk Proteins
- Stone fruit/Rosaceae family
- Eczema Provoking Profile
- Gluten Allergy Profile
- Rhinitis Provoking Profil
- Histamine Releasing Urticaria Test
- Drug Allergy Testing

Is there any preparation needed before having Allergy Testing?
A consultation with a dermatologist is required prior to any allergy testing. The Dermatologist will review your medical history and identify potential triggers to your allergies. They may ask you to keep a food diary or lifestyle diary to help identify allergens.
What aftercare is required for Allergy Testing?
There is no aftercare required.
