What is a Botox injection
Botox injections are a simple, non-surgical, treatment that can temporarily smooth mild to severe frown lines between the brows, around the eyes, on the forehead and other areas of the face. Our Dermatologists prefer a free-faced look, rather than a frozen face looked.
What is involved in a Botox injection
A typical session lasts 30 minutes. If it is your first time, the Dermatologist will typically use a little less and ask you to return 2 weeks later for review. The treatment lasts for 3-4 months however with continual use some patients may find the results last for up to 6 months or even longer.
What are the risks or potential side effects of a Botox injection
Pain, burning, stinging, swelling and / or bruising. In some cases headaches and muscle weakness may occur.
What aftercare is required for a Botox injection
Avoid extreme facial expressions, alcohol consumption and make-up for 24 hours. Avoid extreme sun exposure, UV light, freezing temperature and saunas for two weeks.
What is the cost of a Botox injection
The cost is based on the number of areas being treated but ranges from £200 through £400. Botox injections can also be used for treating hyperhidrosis. We are unable to invoice private health insurers directly for this treatment and patients must pay in full on the day of their treatment. You can find our fees here.
