To all of our patients,
At The London Skin and Hair Clinic and London Real Skin, we are deeply committed to prioritizing the health and well-being of our patients, staff, and community. Nothing is more important than your health and safety, and the need to protect those most vulnerable to the coronavirus (COVID-19).
Please help us prevent the spread and minimize the impact of COVID-19 by following these guidelines for your visit with The London Skin and Hair Clinic or London Real Skin.
- Do not come to the clinic unless medically necessary. If you have been exposed or diagnosed with COVID-19, or if you’re experiencing flu-like symptoms (fever, cough or shortness of breath) please call to reschedule your in clinic appointment.
- We are moving as many of our in clinic consults to be held via phone or Skype videoconference. If you have not transitioned your consultation to a virtual appointment, please contact our clinic.
- If you do need to physically attend our clinic we respectfully ask you to limit the number of people joining you during your appointment to a maximum of 1.
- We ask all patients attending the clinic to please wash their hands in the bathrooms before entering our clinic.
We have suspended our 24 hour notice period for cancelling or rescheduling appointments. We ask that you give us plenty of notice if you need to cancel or reschedule, but if you are exhibiting symptoms or need to care for a family member and so have to cancel on the day, we will not charge you a cancellation or rescheduling fee.
We are now offering Teledermatology (phone or video conference) appointments for follow-up medical appointments, where it is not medically necessary to physically come to our clinic. We can offer this for self-paying patients, and have confirmed with all private health insurers that they can authorise their members to have virtual consultations with us. Please inform your insurer you are having a virtual consultation with our clinic, prior to the appointment, and please send your authorisation code ahead of your appointment to our team.
We are using Skype technology for consultations, our clinic skype name is thelondonskinandhairclinic and you can download skype for your desktop or mobile phone here.
Patients who are prescribed dermatology medication, can have these posted out from our in-house dispensary rather than having to go in to a pharmacy.
We are extending our repeat prescription policy to 18 months. So if you wish to request a repeat prescription, for most medications, and you have not attended the clinic we can issue a repeat prescription up to 18 months between appointments (for most medications).
Dermatology patients who are on immunosuppressant medications, such as Cyclosporine, Methotrexate, and JAK Inhibitors and Biologics, are advised to continue with their medication if they are not experiencing any symptoms at this time, and if they do exhibit symptoms they should contact their doctor for advice. The latest guidance from the British Association of Dermatologists (BAD) is available here.
Our Dermatologists are now seeing cases of skin disorders from patients who are ‘over-washing’ their hands in response to the virus. The BAD is offering useful information to help patients from developing dry skin or skin conditions from frequent hand washing here.
Please don’t hesitate to contact our clinic with any questions or concerns you may have. You will find the latest information on how we are dealing with the Coronavirus on our clinic websites and on our clinic social channels. We thank you for your understanding during this challenging time.
