Updated 9th April 2021
As a medical provider our clinic continues to be open during the National lockdown for face to face appointments. Under the government guidelines patients are permitted to leave their homes for a number of ‘reasonable excuse’ including for medical appointments. For those patients who prefer not to travel in or are vulnerable or shielding we are set up to support them via remote video consultations.
At The London Skin and Hair Clinic and London Real Skin, we are deeply committed to prioritizing the health and well-being of our patients, staff, and community. Nothing is more important than your health and safety, and the need to protect those most vulnerable to the coronavirus (COVID-19).
The London Skin and Hair Clinic is open for face to face medical dermatology appointments and treatment Monday to Friday and two Saturdays a month at our Holborn clinic. We are offering skin-checks, outpatient surgery including biopsies and skin cancer surgery, PDT treatment, phototherapy treatment, along with steroid injections and PRP scalp treatment in clinic.
We are continuing to offer video consultations for new and existing patients, where patients prefer not to travel in to the clinic at this time using our secure medical video conferencing platform. We have worked with all UK private health insurers, including Aviva, AXA, BUPA, Cigna, Healix and WPA, who have advised they will cover remote consultation charges for their members as long as the normal preapproval process is followed.
Regrettably Vitality have decided that they are not covering their members for video consultations at our clinic with our Dermatologists. Video consultations and phone consultations are charged at the same price as in-clinic appointments.
Please call our team on 020 7183 4565 or email us at doctor@LSAH.co.uk to book your appointment or if you have questions about how we are supporting our patients.
In clinic appointments and treatment during Covid
For patients who have their appointment scheduled in clinic, we are following the UK government, Public Health England, and NHS guidance for independent healthcare advice around social distancing and PPE use. We ask that patients wear face coverings while they are in our clinic. Patients will have their temperature taken on arrival (contactless) and we have social distancing measures in place within the clinic including screens for our staff. If you have a face to face appointment booked at our clinic please make sure you read our in clinic protocol for patients prior to your appointment at LSAH Patient Covid Protocol.
Clinic opening hours
Our Clinic is open Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 9:00am to 5:30pm, Wednesdays 9:00am to 6:00pm, Fridays 9:00am to 5:00pm and two Saturdays a month 9:30am to 5:00pm (excluding bank holidays) and during these times our team is available on the phone on 020 7183 4565 or by email to doctor@LSAH.co.uk.

Details on how to prepare for video consultations
We are using secure videoconferencing technology for our consultations. You will be emailed a link with your appointment confirmation that you can click on direct from the email. To ensure the most effective consultation for you, we recommend the following:
- Use Chrome as your browser software for viewing your email and opening the video link
- Test your webcam, speaker, and microphone are all working, ahead of your appointment
- Plan to use a quiet, well-lit room indoors for your video consultation, where you have a good broadband connection. We ask that you do not schedule your appointment while you plan to be out walking outside, or in a cafe, as we want to ensure you get the best care by having the best possible connection and conditions for your video consultation
Our videoconferencing software is also designed to be used on mobiles, however you will not see yourself on the mobile version, you will only see the Dermatologist.
If you are having problems using our videoconference software, it may be because your computer is blocking apps from accessing your camera and / or microphone. You can go to Chrome / Chrome Menu / Settings / Advanced / Privacy and Security / Site Settings
