What is Allergy Testing?
There are three forms of allergy testing. This page refers to allergy testing through blood tests. We also offer patch testing and more information on patch testing can be found here. We do not currently offer skinprick allergy testing.
Allergy Testing - What's Involved?
A sample of blood is taken which is tested against a profile or set of allergens. There are standard profiles (such as eczema provoking, and shellfish) or individual allergens can be tested against. We offer the following allergy profiles at our clinic:

Is there any preparation needed before having a test?
A consultation with a dermatologist is required prior to any allergy testing. The Dermatologist will review your medical history and identify potential triggers to your allergies. They may ask you to keep a food diary or lifestyle diary to help identify allergens.
Is there any aftercare required?
There is no aftercare required.
