Dermal filler injections

Our preferred fillers are hyaluronic acid fillers (Juvéderm, Restylane and Belotero) as it has a proven safety profile when injected by experienced Clinicians.

What is a Dermal filler injections

Dermal filler is injected into the skin to plump it up, make it firmer and smooth out lines and wrinkles. The effects of the filler lasts from 4 months to 18 months depending on the type and the grade of the filler used. There is now evidence that filling wrinkles causes stretching of the skin back to its previous structure and can induce some repair of the tissue. Dermal filler injections are provided at London Real Skin, the laser and cosmetic dermatology branch of The London Skin and Hair Clinic. You can find more information here.

What is involved in a Dermal filler injections

A topical anaesthetic may be applied 40 minutes before the procedure. The filler is injected, into the lines and defects to plump them out.

What are the risks or potential side effects of a Dermal filler injections

Redness, swelling, stinging, itching and discomfort. On rare occasions patients may experience an allergic reaction. Our Dermatologists use hyaluronic acid filler which can be dissolved if this occurs.
